Meet Shikha Reema Aggarwal, the Director at Magic Colours® India.

Magic Colours®, an international cake decorating company, offer a wide and varying range of colours, paints, pastes and airbrush colours to bring your cake decorations to life. We met Shikha, Magic Colours®' Director of India Operations to understand about her journey with Magic Colours® so far and here is what we found out!

1. Tell us about your association with Magic Colours® and the reason you chose this brand over others?

Shikha - Our journey with Magic Colours® started with initially importing them to India two years back. Looking at the overwhelming response to its quality, we partnered with the company and set up on additional production unit in India and the story begins.

2. Tell us a bit about yourself?

Shikha - I started as a hobby cake decorator with a panache for learning and an eye for finesse and detailing this opened up the avenue for learning from international award-winning artists and inviting them to teach in India. Further, we felt the dearth of goods quality products and hence we started importing various products exclusively to India. The next set up was collaborating with Magic Colours® for production in India for distribution in India and abroad.

3. What was the industry like before you began? Do you think there was a significant gap which had to be filled?

Shikha - The cake industry in India is just a few years old. Bakeries and home bakers had to be content with whatever was available in the market in terms of supplies India was majorly dependent on the very limited availability of products. with Magic Colours® production happening in India quality products international standards are now accessible to India bakers.

4. What were some of the largest challenges you faced while starting your brand?

Shikha - Every business day is a challenge the largest challenge still is to make novice bakers aware of the difference between cheaply available ingredients (mostly non-complaint with food standards) and good quality, completely edible and safe.

5. Tell us about your marketing strategies, especially since competition is on the rise and social media plays a vital role in influencing shoppers?

Shikha - We work at the ground level and personally connect with customers. Also, our customer care feedback is what is our second best positive point besides great quality.

6. How do you think your brand has influenced the home baker industry in India?

Shikha - Magic Colours® has been very effective in its outcome hence the baker industry appreciate our products as they are not only time savers but also produce desired outcome quality.

7. Tell us about your range of products and if there are any exciting launches coming up!

Shikha - We have a huge range of all EDIBLE products almost 30 products with many variants in each our parent company strives towards developing new products as per market trends and we keep introducing them into the market.

8. How easy or difficult it is for bakers to buy your products ? can bakers living in non-metro cities buy it from any of the online platforms?

Shikha -Bakers have been misled into believing that get colours are cheap. A lot of science and formulation techniques are involved quality comes with a price. Slowly we are able to convince our customers about the efficacy of our products.

9. What are your thoughts about the bake show that homebakers.co.in conducts across India?

Shikha - HomesBakers.co.in have successfully conducted five shows in some of the most happening cake cities of India. We wish them immense success for their future endeavours.

10. How was your experience of working with HomeBakers.co.in How did working with us helped you increase the penetration of your brand and products amongst Home Bakers?

Shikha - HomeBakers.co.in is an innovative conceptual group. In a very short span of time they have built up a platform in the south of India wherein home bakers can actually get together for learning, teaching, selling, interacting and a lot more. Initially, we were sceptical to the idea of associating with them because every day we get many sponsorship programs from various event companies. But HomeBakers.co.in has been different with panache to present new ideas every time.
