The dates for the India Bake Show Virtual Cake Competition has moved from May 2021 to July 2021.
Based on an overwhelming response to our first-ever India Bake Show Virtual Cake Competition in June 2020, we are bringing the second edition of Virtual Cake Competition. Whether you are a home baker, cake artist, bread maker or chocolatier, you can showcase your amazing baking talent by taking part in the virtual competition and win some exciting prizes and receive feedback from the judges. There are 10 categories for all levels of skills and interests. Each winner and runner-up will get exciting prizes courtesy of our gifting sponsors. There is a special cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for Top 3 winners across all categories. The entry fee is Rs. 500 per participant per category.

- Read the rules for the India Bake Show (Virtual) Cake Competition 2021. Click here to see the rules.
- Register your entry by 15th July 2021 by clicking on the "Register Now" button.
- Upload a good quality high resolution picture (not blurred, clean with proper lighting) along with a description of your creation(s) by 20th July 2021 by clicking on the "Submit Your Entry" button. Only one entry per person per category is allowed. You can upload pictures of your past creations as long as they have not entered any other cake competition. No names, logo or watermark is allowed on the photos submitted for entry into the competition. No digitally enhanced pictures is allowed (blurred or photoshopped). If found true, the entry will be disqualified. Ribbon is allowed around the base and flower wire for flowers only.
- All categories are open to ALL (Advanced or Intermediate level Bakers, Cake Artists and Student Chefs). Professional chefs working for academies, resturants or hotels are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- Entries can be disqualified by Judges if any rule is breached.
- Judging parameters:Creativity, Development of a new idea, Visual Impact, Workmanship, Degree of Difficulty, Proportion, Balance and Color.
- Feedback: We will share the score sheet for each participant. No seperate feedback will be given/available. The judges’ decision is final.
- All entries must be the bonafide work of the individual who has entered.
- Do not use any ADULT/NAUGHTY/POLITICAL/anything that can hurt public sentiment elements in your creation. Organiser’s/Judge’s decision on this will be final and no reasoning will be entertained.
- Your sculpted/carved or decorated exhibit could reflect food, festivals, lifestyle, places, handicrafts, monuments, personalities, animals, or imaginative creation, etc.
- The exhibit may be of any shape and design. It can be a single piece or a group or of a unique design as long as it fits the permissible size.
- All decorations should be edible. Use of inedible decorations, lights or real fresh flowers is NOT allowed.
- NO inedible material should be exposed. Your entry will be DISQUALIFIED if any inedible material is exposed.
- Your celebration cake must reflect any occasion for e.g., Bridal shower, baby shower, birthday, anniversary, graduation, a promotion, etc.
- Fully edible decorations would get more weightage.
- All non-fondant cakes must be covered in royal icing, buttercream, fresh cream or chocolate.
- No inedible material should be exposed. Your entry will be DISQUALIFIED if any inedible material is exposed.
- Use of Fondant accents can't be more than 10% of cake's size.
- NO use of inedible decoration/lights is allowed.
- Adult/Naughty cakes are strictly NOT allowed and will be disqualified. Organiser’s/Judge’s decision on this will be final and no reasoning will be entertained.
- Your fondant cake will be meant for consumption and could reflect food, festivals, lifestyle, places, handicrafts, monuments, personalities, animals, etc.
- All fondant cakes must be covered in fondant (sugar paste).
- Cakes may be of one or more tiers or of a unique design.
- All decorations should be handmade and edible. Use of inedible decorations, lights or real fresh flowers is NOT allowed.
- NO inedible material should be exposed. Your entry will be DISQUALIFIED if any inedible material is exposed.
- The wedding cake must be at least three (3) tiers.
- The cake and any spacers must be covered with sugar paste, Royal Icing, chocolate or any edible medium.
- All flowers, if any, must be handmade/edible. Any commercially made flowers will be judged accordingly.
- Display must include a minimum of six (6) individually decorated (different) 100% cupcakes with edible decorations.
- The cupcakes can be decorated with sugar paste, Royal Icing, chocolate or any edible medium.
- Non-edible decorations are not permitted.
- Any decorative topper should be less than the diameter of the cupcake.
- Stands are permitted to display the cupcakes.
- All sized cupcakes except giant/jumbo-sized cupcakes to be put on display.
- A minimum of 6 100% edible and decorated 2D cookies to be put on display. Cookies will be flat and decorated on one surface only.
- The cookies can be decorated with sugar paste, Royal Icing, chocolate or any edible medium.
- Any shape cookies are allowed.
- An arrangement of a minimum of 10 full bloom sugar flowers (created using gumpaste or sugar flower paste only) to be put on display.
- The floral arrangement can have berries, fruits, and foliage (created using sugar flower paste only).
- The flowers and foliage may be wired and include stamens, floral tape, ribbons or thread.
- The use of non-edible bases, vases, containers is permitted, as well as wires, stamens, floral tape, ribbons, etc. But non-edible beads, diamantes and diamonds are not allowed.
- Name of the flowers AND a brief write up/description of your inspiration etc. (limited to 100 words only) should be submitted along with the image of your creation.
- This Contest is intended for Bread (artisan, whole grain, bread, ethnic, holiday, flatbread, rolls, buns, etc.).
- The set-up should have one or more loaves OR one dozen or more rolls.
- List ingredients in the description field while uploading a picture
- OPTIONAL - If you'd like to feature your recipe along with your bio & photographs on HomeBakers.co.in, then e-mail a soft copy (in a word or pdf format) of the recipe to info@homebakers.co.in along with your name, registration number, category, contact number and the photographs.
- The set up should have dozen or more unwrapped handmade chocolates.
- List ingredients in the description field while uploading a picture
- OPTIONAL - If you'd like to feature your recipe along with your bio & photographs on HomeBakers.co.in, then e-mail a soft copy (in a word or pdf format) of the recipe to info@homebakers.co.in along with your name, registration number, category, contact number and the photographs.
- Ensure that you have an active Instagram account to participate and mention it in the registration form, correctly.
- Make sure that you have a public profile
- Participate by creating any cake or baking technique reel that you prefer. Be innovative!
- Post your reel on your Instagram account in the Reels section by tagging @homebakers_co_in and use #ReelsRule
- We will re-post it in our account and a Winner and Runner-up will be chosen based on the number of views and likes in the Reels
- Registration fee is non-refundable. Once registered, the amount can't be refunded under any circumstances (unless the event is preponed, postponed or cancelled).
- Closing Date: The closing date for all entries is 20th July 2021.
- Judging: Judging will take place between 21st July to 4th August 2021.
- Anonymous judging will be done by a panel of the top Cake Artists in an unbiased manner.
- Judges and Homebakers.co.in decision will be final.
- Results will be announced on 8th August 2021.
- Cash or cash equivalent prizes will be announced for Winner and Runner-up along with an electronic certificate and a badge. Gift hampers/ prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
- We or our prize sponsors do not guarantee shipping of prizes to international locations and locations within India with shipping restrictions due to Covid-19 lockdown measures imposed by local or state governments.
- Feedback: The judges’ decision is final. We will share the score sheet for each participant. No seperate feedback will be given/available.
- Intellectual Property Rights: By entering the competitions and allowing work to be shown at The Great Bake Show, PLEASE BE AWARE that photographs or copies may be taken by any person or visitor and realise that your designs/work may be reproduced but The Great Bake Shows Events, HomeBakers.co.in or its employees or organisers or judges will not be liable in any way for this infringement should this happen.
- Photographs: Photographs of competition entries may be used online by The Great Bake Shows Events and HomeBakers.co.in or printed in future relevant publications as agreed with The Great Bake Shows Events and HomeBakers.co.in management team.
- Terms and conditions are subject to change.
- These terms and conditions will be applicable to every person who registers as a participant.
- A participant who is already registered in the competition may participate in multiple OR All categories by paying an additional fee for each additional category.

Each winner and runner-up will get exciting prizes worth Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 8,000 respectively, courtesy of our gifting sponsors. In addition to this, there is a special cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for each of the Top 3 winners across all categories in the competition.
